Carrie J. Sirk Miller, 89, of Gassaway, went home to be with the Lord June 8, 2005 at Broadmore Assisted Living Community, Hurricane. She was born October 1, 1915 in Gassaway, West Virginia, a daughter of the late John Kenna and Flora Bell McCune Sirk. She was retired with 37 years of service for West Virginia American Water Company; the oldest member of the Gassaway Baptist Church and a homemaker, who loved to cook for her family. She is survived by son, Wiley E. Miller Jr. and wife, Sharon of Reynoldsburg, OH; daughter Dorothy Underwood and husband, Jim of Hurricane, West Virginia; sister, Eunice Sirk Snodgrass of Marmet, West Virginia; grandchildren. Sherri Underwood, Jeff Miller and wife, Ginny, Traci Scherr and husband Mark. Carrie Keller and husband, Justin; great grandchildren, Sam, Ben, Joel, Chloe, and Henry; one niece and four nephews. In addition to her parent's husband, Wiley E. Miller Sr., also preceded her in death, granddaughter, Connie Ann Underwood, brother. Orval Sirk; sister, Ruby Sirk Wolverton. Services were held 2 pm Saturday, June 11, 2005 at the Gassaway Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Stump officiating. Burial was in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway. Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway served the Miller family.
