She is survived by her son, Gary Lamar Jester and wife, Patricia; grandsons, Lamar Jester and John Jester; step-grandson, Michael Noe; and step-granddaughter, Rachel Machtolff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. L.M. Jester; sisters, Edna R. Lamar and Vera R. Meeks; and brother, Horace M. Reams.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, W. C. Reams and Maud S. Reams. She was originally from Henderson, Tenn., and attended the University of Tennessee, Lambuth College and Florence State Teachers College. She taught shorthand and business administration at Chester County High School before moving to Florence with her husband in 1946. She was a devoted wife and mother and a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.
