George S., son of Milton and Kathryn Blair, was born in Van Buren county, Iowas April 13, 1866 and died at his home in Corydon, Iowa, March 20, 1933.

When a young man he united with the Baptist church and remained a member until the time of his death. On March 20, 1887 he was united in marriage with Martha D. Bettis and to this union seven children were born. One son, Robert J., died July 15, 1897 and twin daughters died in infancy. The living children Kate A. Shelton, Perry, Okla, Chaw. F., Oklahoma city, Okla., Loren J., Stillwater, Okla., and Mrs. Clara Hammond, Seymour, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fran H. Blair who died when a young man. His first wife died March 3, 1925 and on March 22, 1931 he was married to Susan D. Edwards, who has been a faithful and comforting companion and who with the children mourn his passing.

Mr. Blair has been an usually strong man but his comparatively early demise only proves that life to uncertain and death is sure. And while our hearts are heavy today we know that Jesus death all things well and we humbly submit to His bidding and say "not our will but Thine be done".
