He was well respected and was a member of the Conference Board of Ministerial Training and Qualifications for the Methodist church.
He was the son of Jacob Goodin Souers and Catherine Chamberlain.
He married Mary Francis Wetzel on September 7, 1910 in Wilmore, Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife; one son; a sister, Mrs. Anna Buryl (James Caswell) Patterson of Salem, IL; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by 3 daughters.
He was the son of Jacob Goodin Souers and Catherine Chamberlain. Note: Although some spell Catherine's name with a K, she apparently spelled it with a "C" when filling out pension forms for Jacob. Jacob's gravestone has his surname spelled "Sours". Possibly a transcription error on the part of the military.
