Chester Everett “Chet” Carter, 90, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born March 29, 1924 in Vincennes, Indiana to the late John Edwards and Betsy (Duley) Carter and has been a resident of this area since 1979 moving here from Harrison, Michigan. He was a retired Police Officer for Ann Arbor, Michigan. Chet was a veteran of WWII Serving in the US Marine Corp., he was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, Kiwanis Club, and VFW and was of the Christian Faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Margaret Carter and Son, John E. Carter
Survivors include his son, Ray Carter and wife Glama of Sarasota, Florida; granddaughter, Elina Maria Carter.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home.
