TEXAS CITY — Robbie Mae Morris, fondly known as “Sugar Cookie” was born August 24, 1938, in Huntsville, Texas and departed this earthly life May 26, 2008.

Mrs. Morris, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, was educated in the public schools of La Marque; was a member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church and was co-owner of “The Mud Shack” in Texas City.

Preceded in death by her parents, Robert Alexander and Mable McAdams and siblings, Carrie Holt, Ruth Valentine, Orlean Taylor, Gladys McAdams, Eddie McAdams and Raymond McAdams, she leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Joseph Morris; her children, Raydon Alexander (Susan), Lori Hosey, Tony Alexander, Alicia Sylvester, Marla Scott (Kevin), Stacie Young (Johnny) and Debra Martin (Alfred); her sisters and brother, Charlie Mae Smithers, Barbara Washington and Orvis Boone (Jerri); seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, special friends, Dorothy Kemp, Mae Budwine and Alicia McAfee; other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, 401 3rd Avenue North in Texas City with Home Going Services immediately following at 12 p.m., with Pastor Robert Maxey, officiating.

Burial will follow at Rising Star Cemetery in La Marque under the direction of Mainland Funeral Home of La Marque.

The family would like to give special thanks to A-MED Hospice Staff, Margie and Connie.
