Rhonda Coleen Baethge Usener, 60, of Austin, Texas left this Earth on Monday, March, 2, 2015. She was born on March 1, 1955 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Frances Lois Hahne Baethge and Elmo Len Baethge.

Rhonda met Patrick Usener in Fredericksburg while she was in high school. They exchanged vows on August 25, 1974. They made a life together in Austin, Texas where Rhonda began a job at The American Red Cross until she retired after 40 years of dedicated service just this past February.

She is preceded in death by her beloved sister and best friend, Kerry Baethge Schmidt.

Rhonda is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Patrick Usener; her devoted daughter, Melissa Finkel and husband, Todd of Austin; her cherished grandchildren, Abigail, Conrad, and Noelle Finkel; beloved mother, whom she so fiercely loved, Frances Baethge of Fredericksburg; her brother, Warren Baethge and wife, Lorraine of Connecticut; brother Gorden Baethge and wife, Jeanie of Denton, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved as if they were her own children.

Rhonda Usener was the type of woman who never sought attention and always put others before herself. She only liked movies with happy endings and insisted that every holiday, birthday, and special occasion be met with as much fanfare as possible. Rhonda loved to garden (a hobby that she attained from her Grandpa Hahne). Her greatest passion in life however, was her grandchildren, whom she placed above anything else…every minute of every day was about them. We will love you always and forever. We love you Momma.

The family will receive friends at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow the Services at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
