Salisbury-Leon James Phillips, 76, of Salisbury, died on March 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. Born on June 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Rosco J. and Alice H. Phillips.

Mr. Phillips served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1959. He retired as Assistant Manager from Sears and Roebuck after 34 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked as a police officer for the Berlin Police Department. He was a member of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Auxiliary from 1961-1991. He was also a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. Leon was one of the founding members and a coach of the Salvation Army Youth Shooting Program.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Vivian P. Ball and her husband Herbert, an uncle, Everett Davis, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clyde and Helen Hastings and a brother-in-law, Buddy Hastings.

Leon is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nadine H. Phillips; two sons, Michael J. Phillips of Salisbury and Jeffrey L. Phillips and his wife Stacey of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Morgan, Andrew, Logan and Austin. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Peggy Hastings; nephews, Jay Ball and his wife Joan of Powellville, Barry Hastings and his wife Joann of Salisbury and Dale Hastings and his wife Chris of Chesapeake, VA; a great-nephew, Colton and a great-niece, Jada.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury. A visitation will be held from 9:00AM-11:00AM. Burial will be in Parsons Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Rick Vance will officiate.
