A retired furniture salesman and a resident of New Roads, Tony died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at Lakeview Manor Nursing Facility, New Roads. He was 76 and a native of Bordelonville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Visiting at Niland's Funeral Home, New Roads, until religious services, conducted by the Rev. Michael Schatzle. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.

Survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Natalie Desselle of Ventress; two daughters, Karen Armoney and Kathy Perriera, both of Ventress; five sisters, Verdie Crowe of Baton Rouge, Maude Pope of Houston, Elise Lemoine of Marksville, Lena Desselle of Belle Rose and Joyce Roy of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Becky Beard, Mark Armoney and Mindy Armoney; and three great-grandchildren, Trey Beard, Fayelynn Beard and Tatum Armoney.

Preceded in death by his parents, Emile Desselle and Florence Bordelon; three brothers, Howard Desselle, Hubert Desselle and Steve Desselle; six sisters, Myrdis Desselle, Laura Mae Lemoine, Pearl Cox, Ina Desselle, Anna Louise Desselle and Betsy Desselle; a daughter, Wanda Sanders; and twin grandsons, Shad and Shanley Perriera.
