"Jonathan Osbourne" and "Greta Holman" were invented by a genealogist. The siblings whose parents / origins are not identified are: Ephraim, Caleb, Enoch, Solomon, and Jonathan.

There are no public records to support any Osborne lineages beyond Ephraim  Osborne that I am aware of.  The Osbornes of Jamestown, are, I think fiction.  The earliest I would be confident of claiming records for would be in Rowan  Co., NC.

ephraim Osborne, the patriarch of the Osborne families in the New River valley and three of his sons, Enoch, Jonathan, and Robert along with Ephraim's brother Stephen were members of the Herbert company.
This family came to the New River valley very early (1765 or 6) from the Yadkin River valley (i.e. the "Jersey Settlement" in Rowan Co., NC).
Before North Carolina, their origin is more obscure, but Rita Sutton says that family legends place them as from New Jersey.
Their naming pattern is quite consistent with the New Jersey Osborne family that originated in Connecticut and before that in England [see John Osborne] but the connection to this family has not been established.
It is possible that they instead are more recent immigrants from England or Scotland or Ireland who migrated to North Carolina from Pennsylvania (Charles Osborne hypothesis). It is now believed that the supposed connection to a Jonathan Osborne and a Greta Holman is a genealogical hoax played on a customer by a "professional" genealogist sometime before World War II, and propagated like wild-fire via the internet.
In fact we know the names of the parties involved in the hoax.

Current information indicates that in the 1930s, Will Daniels, an attorney at law, hired a 'professional' genealogist from Pittsburg, PA to find the parents of Ephraim Osborne of Grayson Cty Va
FRAUD STARTS A MYTH
The genealogist MADE up Jonathan Osborne married to Greta Holman, TWO REAL PEOPLE NOT CONNECTED TO DANIELS' FAMILY.
He evidently figured since someone hired him they didn't have time or ability to do the research on their own.
At any rate, Will Daniels finally discovered he had been hoodwinked, but not before he had spread this stuff all over New River Valley and beyond.
The FRAUDSTER did some research on the Hashes which is still causing problems with that family history too.
When reputable people tried to obtain more information they could find no records.
An investigation of the professional revealed that he was prone to invent something to satisfy his clients.
THE REAL TRUTH
There is a Gretta Holman and a Jonathan Osborne who were married in Jamestown.
THEY DID HAVE KIDS.
THEY DID NOT HAVE A CHILD EPHRAIM OF GRAYSON CTY VA NOR ANY OF HIS KNOWN SIBLINGS.
The descendants of Gretta and Jonathan say they absolutely are not connected to Grayson Cty Va Osbornes.
