~OBITUARY OF LEO LONG CANDLAND

Leo Long CANDLAND, Mount Pleasant mining man, died in a local hospital Monday at 7:45 a.m. of heart disease.

Mr. CANDLAND was born August 18, 1879, at Chester, Sanpete County, and is survived by the following brothers and sisters: F. H. CANDLAND of Chester, P. H. CANDLAND of Salt lake, Theo C. CANDLAND of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. A. N. JENSEN of Mount Pleasant and Mrs. Fannie O. MILES of Salt Lake.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Mount Pleasant L.D.S. Chapel and burial will be at Mount Pleasant.

~OBITUARY OF LELAND L. CANDLAND

Leland L. CANDLAND, 54, a resident of Mount Pleasant, died in a local hospital of heart trouble. He came to Salt Lake for medical aid six weeks ago.

Mr. CANDLAND was born in Chester, Sanpete County, August 18, 1879, a son of David and Annie Woodhouse CANDLAND, pioneers of Sanpete County. When a young man, he went to Nevada, where he engaged in mining and for several years was a foreman for the Nevada Copper mills at Ely. His health began to fail about four years ago and he returned to Mount Pleasant.

Surviving are five brothers and sisters; F. H. CANDLAND of Chester; P. H. CANDLAND and Mrs. Fannie C. MILLER of Salt Lake; Theo C. CANDLAND and Mrs. A. N. JENSEN of Mount Pleasant; and the following half-brothers and half-sisters; W. D. CANDLAND, Mrs. Grace JACOBSEN and Mrs. Jessie CHRISTENSEN of Mount Pleasant; Frank CANDLAND of Long Beach, California; Arthur CANDLAND of Provo; Walter CANDLAND of Idaho; Mrs. Minnie WARNER, Aleck CANDLAND and Mrs. Addie EDMONDS of Salt Lake; Mrs. Ellen JONES of Ogden, and Lawrence CANDLAND of California.
