About one mile west of Park City is the home of Jake Benner. He spent 27 years of his life farming in Montana. Like many of our prosperous and substantial citizens, Mr. Benner was born across the Atlantic, his native place being Walter, Russia and the time of the birth is 1894. Jake came with his parents to Stillwater County in 1908.
Here Mr. Benner married Mary Schessler on May 27, 1917 at Park City. She was also a native of Walter, Russia and her birthdate is October 23, 1898. Mr. and Mrs. Benner bought their farm after their marriage. Here Mrs. Benner continued living. Mr. Benner has done general farming and raised stock.
Mr. and Mrs. Benner are the parents of six children: Helen, Walter, Betty Jean, Bernice, John and Jake, Jr.. Mr. Benner died in 1955. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Benner, Jr. carried on the farm work.
