A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late William Waltes Goode and Louetta Carpenter Goode.
She worked briefly for the National Carbon Company, in Charlotte, NC during World War II. After the war she worked at Lance Corporation then moved back home where she worked for over 40 years until her retirement at Stone Cutter Mills. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sisters, Ruth Melton, Mattie Bowers, and Lucille Biggerstaff and one brother Francis Goode and predeceased by two sisters, Elma Tate and Edith Elliot and one brother, James Goode.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Bass officiating.
