Mary Edna McVay Deaton, 90, of Tuscumbia, passed Monday, March 2, 2015. Her visitation will be at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. Her funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Darrell Pace and Steve Slayton officiating. Burial will follow in Mynot Cemetery.
Mrs. Deaton was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscumbia. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry McVay and Mary Etta Pounders McVay; her husband, Harvey Lee Deaton; granddaughter, Britney Deaton; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Rose; sons, Jimmy Deaton, Roger Deaton, and Tommy Deaton; daughter, Robbie Nell Deaton Medford; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and three step children, Tim, Mark, and Michelle.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Jude’s Hospital, The American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
