Andrew Earl Prince, 71, of Big Spring, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 in a Midland hospital.

He was born August 17, 1943 at Fort Benning, Georgia and married Judith Merriott, December 27, 1964, in Stamford, Texas. She preceded him in death May 27, 2009.

Andrew was born to an army family and lived at several military bases, graduating from Frankfurt High School in Frankfurt, Germany in 1960. He graduated from the University of Mississippi at Oxford and was involved with the ROTC. Andrew served in the United States Army 36 years, retiring as a Colonel. He came to Big Spring in 1979 and worked at several hospitals in this area before going to work at the Big Spring Veterans Administration Medical Center in 2003, retiring in 2014.

He is survived by one son, Scott Prince of Big Spring; one daughter, Julianna Horton and husband, Thomas of Odessa; and six grandchildren, Cameron Prince, Colin Prince, McKenzie Horton, Weldon Horton, Hannah Horton and Jordan Horton.
