Salina Journal March 27, 1972

A graveside service for Ross James Maltby, 88, Kansas City, a former salina area resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Maltby, who was born at Mentor, had lived in Kansas City the past 47 years. He was a member of a Saline County pioneer family and was a 1922 graduate of Kansas State University where he studied after service in World War I.

He died Saturday at Kansas City.

He was a member of the Rosedale United Methodist Church and the Masonic lodge and American Legion post, both in the Rosedale area of Kansas City.

Surviving are 2 sisters, Irene Maltby and Mrs. Christine M. Evans, both of Longmont Colo.

The Rush Smith funeral home is in charge of Salina arrangements.
