Arthur E. Benz, 73, longtime resident of Hibbing, died Sunday, May 15, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
He was born on May 2, 1938, to Edward and Hazel (Perkins) Benz in Kelliher, Minn. He served his country for 10 years with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, then was with the National Guard for seven additional years. Arthur married Tina Ruiz on Oct. 21, 1960. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Hibbing. Arthur loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Tina Benz, Hibbing; five sons and one daughter; brother, Gerald Benz, Hibbing; sister, Thelma Daken, Kelliher, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Raul Benz in 1979.
Interment in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.
