Age93, a lifelong Superior area resident, died, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born to Nellie (Todd) and Clyde Albright in Superior on June 20, 1921. He was a 1939 graduate of Superior Central High School. He worked with his parents in Albright’s Nursery, a family business started by his Grandfather in 1892. After the death of his Father he was employed by the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation until his retirement in 1986.
He served his country during WW II in the Army’s 17th Field Artillery. From 1942 until 1945 he served in North Africa, Sicily, Italy and at the Battle Of The Bulge in France. He was a life member of the V. F. W. Post No. 1091, and had served on the Board of Directors of Greenwood Cemetery from 1958 until the present and was very proud of his part in helping the cemetery to become such a beautiful final resting place. Don was a longtime member of the Bethel Lutheran Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife of over 61 years, the former Ruth Bailey on Mar. 26, 2011; a son, Clyde on Oct. 13, 1970; a sister, Gene (Robert) Nelson on Nov. 27, 1985; and a daughter-in-law, Sherry L. Albright on Dec. 28, 2004.
