MOUNT PLEASANT -- George Miles SORENSEN, 83, died September 20, 1983 at his home.
Born August 22, 1910 in Mount Pleasant, to George Christian and Mina Ophelia Hastier SORENSEN. Married Carrie Generia (Jewel) GUNDERSON, February 06, 1936, Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a stock man and farmer. High Priest in the Mount Pleasant First LDS Ward. Also holding many Church positions. He graduated from Snow College and attended Utah State University. Active Member and past officer of the Farm Bureau, Secretary of the Sorensen Well Irrigation Company. Served many years on the Board of Directors of the Peasant Creek Irrigation Company.
Survived by wife, one son, one daughter, Roger Miles, Wichita, Kansas; Mrs. Douglas W. (Susan) LETCHFIELD, Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Russ preceded him in death. Also surviving, two brothers, Royal, Fruit Heights, Utah; Leo, Huntsville; sisters, Mrs. John (Elaine) BECKER, Long Beach, California; Mrs. Don (Donna) VANCE, Littleton, Colorado; Mrs. Don (Norma) THOMPSON, Reno, Nevada.
Services Saturday 1:00 p.m. in the Mount Pleasant First LDS Ward Chapel. Friends call at the Ward Chapel in Mount Pleasant Friday, 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturday at the Chapel one and one-half hours prior to Services. Interment: Mount Pleasant City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Buchanan Mortuary.
