Joseph W. Nesmith, Jr., 83, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 at Holy Spirit Hospital.
Mr. Nesmith was born in Mechanicsburg, on May 4, 1925, the son of the late Joseph W. and Edith P. (Henry) Nesmith.
He was a member of St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church New Kingstown and American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsburg. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Joseph is survived by a sister, Margaret V. Shreve of Goldsboro; and a brother, Paul E. Nesmith of Mechanicsburg; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Kingstown, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 30th, with Reverend John Teitman officiating. There will be a viewing Tuesday from 6-8 p.m., in the Myers Funeral Home of Mechanicsburg and Wednesday from 10-11 a.m., at St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 30 Carlisle Pike, New Kingstown, PA 17072.
