Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Hymel Benoit, 77, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel in Lake Arthur with Rev. Jered Thomas officiating.

Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.

Funeral home visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Friday until service time at 10:00 a.m.

Mrs. Benoit died at 2:48 p.m., Monday, February 23, 2015 in the Camelot Place Nursing Home in Crowley, LA.

She was born in Jennings and lived most of her life in Lake Arthur. She traveled with her husband, Raymond, who was in the U.S. Army. She loved to play bingo and was an animal lover. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Arthur.

Mrs. Benoit is survived by one son, Raymond D. Benoit of Welsh; grandson, Raymond L. Benoit and wife Jessica of Lake Arthur; granddaughter Jamie and husband Joe Breaux of Gueydan; one brother, Johnny Hymel of Lake Charles, and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Ruby Rutherford Hymel; her husband, Raymond Benoit and one daughter, Debra Benoit.
