Thomas D. Riggs, 57, of New Castle, Delaware passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015.
Born on October 3, 1957 in Wilmington, DE, he was a son of the late James I. Riggs and Rosa L. (Street) Riggs.
Thomas worked as a salesperson for Earles Tire Sales, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
As an avid sports fan, he loved watching his favorite teams, Eagles and Phillies, and especially enjoyed NASCAR. He enjoyed fishing and possessed a strong passion for astronomy.
Thomas will be remembered for his love for all animals and the loving care he shared with each and every pet he met. The love of his life was his faithful black lab, Bella, who he loved dearly. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle and dear friend to many.
Thomas is survived by a brother, James D. Riggs (Shellie) of Elkton, MD; two sisters, Brenda F. Moore (Christopher) of Bear, DE and Barbara L. Riggs of New Castle, DE; two nephews, Michael J. Riggs (Sarah) and Adam C. Moore (Nicole); four nieces, Kathryn E. Moore-Nigg (Anthony), Jamie L. Senn (Bradley), Elizabeth L. Sorg (Islam) and Devon M. Riggs; as well as by a host of great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where friends may visit with Thomas' family from 9:30-10:30 am. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
