Funeral Services for Lonnie Dale Greene, 57, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Living Way Apostolic Church with Bro. Nathan Thornton, Ronnie Cook, Rusty Newman, and Justin Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens Cemetery, West Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Lonnie was born on February 16, 1958 in Winnsboro, LA and passed away on February 27, 2015 in West Monroe, LA. He was a graduate of Winnsboro High School then went to play 4 years of football as a starter at Mississippi State University. He then played for the Green Bay Packers and the Oakland Invaders in the early 1980’s. Lonnie was a coach at several schools coaching football and coached girl’s fast pitch softball for many years, coaching the Fury, Rippers and Blaze travel teams and coached many teams at Biedenharn softball complex. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He loved his family, wife, daughter, and grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Eunice Greene and brother Ronald Joe Greene.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Greene; daughter, Lauren Greene; grandson, Landry Greene; sister, Laura Mulhearn; brother, George A. Greene; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Newman, Ronald Cook, Justin Hill, Lance Mulhearn, Caleb Franks, and Mark Moore.
Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Living Way Apostolic Church, West Monroe.
