John R. Baker, 67, of Gladwin, formerly of Paden City, West Virginia, died Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Gladwin Pines Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Lloyd and Vonda Mae (Doak) Baker. He graduated from Tyler County High School and West Virginia Business College in Clarksburg, West Virginia. He worked for Wiser Oil Company in West Virginia and Dallas, Texas for 38 years, moving to Flint and then to Gladwin. He enjoyed gardening and watching sports. He was a member of Church of Christ in Middlebourne.
He is survived by his wife, three sisters; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews .
