Roberta E. Davis, 90, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 6, 2009, of natural causes. She was born May 20, 1919, in Long Beach, Long Island, N.Y., and was a 66-year resident of Las Vegas.
She moved to Las Vegas when she married Albert Walter Davis in 1943. Roberta recently celebrated her 90th birthday, May 23, 2009, surrounded by family and friends.
She had her own bookkeeping service and was a vibrant member of the community. Roberta wrote many articles and poems which she contributed to local newspapers about current civic situations. She was an avid reader and belonged to several book clubs. Roberta will be missed for her pleasant smile and her love of nature.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; granddaughter, Suzie; and parents, Maxamialia and Revella Rukeyer Esberg. She is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Gladys of Hendersonville, N.C., Mike and Janice of Santa Clara, Utah, Bill and Lee of Newport, N.C., and Peter and Linda of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Marilyn Essex of Las Vegas.
Viewing will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, with funeral services following, both at the LDS Chapel, 9011 Hillpointe Road.
