James C. Hoyt, 83, of 1407 N. Fourth St. died at 6:05 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 1994, at Pekin Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin. The Rev. Dawn Stemple and the Rev. John Stemple will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
Friends may call from 9 to time of services at the church.Noel-Henderson Funeral Home Ltd. in Pekin is handling the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, of which he was a member.
He was born May 12, 1911, in St. Joseph to Norman C. and Julia E. Clements Hoyt. He married Mabel A. Pollman July 29, 1935, in Mexico, Mo.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Carl (Janice Elaine) Frazier of Pekin; two grandchildren, Darra Anne Frazier and Jenna E. Frazier; and one sister, Zella Fears of Assumption.
One son, Larry J. Hoyt, six brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of William Schaefer American Legion Post 44 in Pekin.
He graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign.
Mr. Hoyt was a zoning field man and worked 18 years in the Tazewell County Zoning Department.
He was a member of the Pekin Elks Club and Tazewell County Farm Bureau.
