"JOHN J. LOMBARD SR., 84, a former cheese-company executive, died Saturday at the Towne Manor West Nursing Home in Norristown. He was a former resident of West Oak Lane. Mr. Lombard was the retired general manager of W.S. Pope & Sons, wholesalers and manufacturers of Cooper Sharpe Cheese and other cheese products, formerly located at Seventh and Wood Streets. In 1944, he received a Presidential Citation for selling $100,000 in war bonds in a 72-hour period. Survivors: his wife of 62 years, Mary O'Donnell Lombard; sons, John Jr. and Jerome F.; daughters, Rosemary McNutt and Ellen L. Kelly; one sister; two brothers; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services: calling hours, 10 to 11 a.m. tomorrow, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, St. Helena's Roman Catholic Church, DeKalb Pike, Centre Square, Pa.; burial, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham."
