Jack I. Bond of Cordova, MD, died on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at his home. He was 73 years old. Born in Washington, D.C. on April 3, 1940, Mr. Bond lived in Riverdale for 43 years. He had worked for the Washington D.C. Government Department of Schools for 30 years before retiring in June of 1997. He then moved to Cordova, MD where he continued Jack's Sheet Metal Fabrication business. Mr. Bond is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet Bond; three daughters: Sheri Bond-Buckey of Queenstown, MD, Catherine Plunkett of Gambrills, MD, and Tracy Spence of Morrilton, AR; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Plunkett, Heather Spence, Janet Plunkett, Rachael Lucas, Kevin Plunkett, Jacob Spence, and Jeremiah Buckey; and three great grandchildren: Claire Lucas, Kayleigh Moore, and Nathan Lucas. Funeral services will be 11 AM on Wednesday, October 2nd, at the Fairview Church of the Brethren in Cordova, MD where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. The interment will be in the Fairview Church Cemetery. If friends wish to send memorial donations, the family suggests sending them to the Fairview Church of the Brethren, 11243 Chapel Road, Cordova, MD 21625 or to Camp Mardela, 303 Deep Shore Road, Denton, MD 21629.
