Mr. Thomas Carl "Tom" Oakes, 77, of Ijamsville, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Nancey (Fultz) Oakes.

Born May 23, 1937, in Old Town, Maine, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Rose Marie Oakes.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Selene Keating and husband Jerry, granddaughter, Alexis Keating, brother, Francis Oakes, numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00am, on Friday, March 6, 2015, at Greenridge Baptist Church, 21925 Frederick Road, Clarksburg, MD 20841. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00AM. Pastor Tim Simpson will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom's name to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
