MRS. GEORGE C. HOLT DIES
Mrs. George Chandler Holt, wife of former Federal Judge Holt, who was well known in this boro, died on Thursday at Pomfret, Conn., after a long illness. She was the mother of Hamilton Holt, for many years the editor and owner of the Independent and who is now president of Rollins College in Florida. Mrs. Holt was born in Brooklyn on July 26, 1848, the daughter of Henry C. Bowen and Lucy Maria Tappan Bowen. She is also survived by her daughters, Mrs. Ralph D. Reed, Miss Constance Holt and Miss Sylvia Holt, and another son, Henry C. Holt.
