Caroline Gex was the daughter of Antoine "Anthony" Gex and Cyrene Price, who lived in Gallatin County, Kentucky near what would later be the Gallatin - Carroll County lines at the Ohio River. On December 26, 1837 she married Benjamin Franklin Craig, who was a first-cousin of Caroline's mother Cyrene Price. In 1885 B. F. and Caroline Craig moved to Clinton County, Missouri. The couple had 11 children; only four lived to adulthood. Caroline died in 1886.
