Clifford O. Fischer, age 88, of Portage, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena.

Clifford was born on September 24, 1924 in Medford, Wisconsin, the son of William and Anna (Damn) Fischer. He was married on September 23, 1967 to Linda Roecker. Cliff was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage. He worked on road construction for many years. Cliff was a member of Operating Engineers Local 139 for 60 years. He worked on a bulldozer on many Wisconsin highways. He also worked part-time for Marachowsky's Furniture Store. Upon retirement, he worked with wood and made many things; doing craft shows for 15 years. He was a man that never sat down and was always doing something around the house in his garage, basement, or yard. He always liked showing his old pictures to everyone of his old cars and milk truck.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Linda, of 45 years; his daughters, Tammy (Charles) Hilgers, Cottage Grove, and Barbara (Steven) Reynolds Jr., Madison; granddaughters, Elizabeth Hilgers (Mark Hoverson), Sun Prairie, and Jenna Hilgers, Cottage Grove; his sister, Joyce Rinehart, Owen, WI; his brother-in-law, Donald Schumann, Portage; his sister-in-law, Patricia Pratt, Fond du Lac; many nieces, nephews, other near relatives and friends. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Myrtle and brother-in-law, Norbert Faber; his brothers, Herbert and sister-in-law, Lenore Fischer, Melvin and sister-in-law, Beaulah Fischer; his brother-in-law, Donald Rinehart; sister-in-law, Nancy Engstrom and brothers-in-law, Arwin Rohrbeck and Ben Engstrom; his sister-in-law, Elaine Schumann; and his brother-in-law, Francis Pratt.

Cliff and Joan are the biological parents of Sandy,Penny, Terry, Jay, and Randi-Rae
