A family story is that she is said to have been buried in the Cuthbert, GA cemetery but water from a burst water tank destroyed the grave and marker. Historical records do show that a cyclone did hit downtown Cuthbert on 9 March 1909, and, in addition to other things, hit and destroyed the city water tower adjacent to the Eastview Cemetery but there is no mention of damages to the cemetery.
