Married 27 Nov 1851 Pembroke, Merrimack, New Hampshire to Hannah Ann Head. Born 19 Jan 1824 Hooksett, Merrimack, New Hampshire. Died 28 Jun 1896 Pembroke, Merrimack, New Hampshire. Daughter of John Head and Anna Brown. Died of Dilation of the Heart. To their union was born 2 children: Sarah Frances Stevens and Edwin Eugene Stevens. Civil War Soldier: Josiah enlisted in the Union Army on 3 May 1861 and was commissioned an officer in Company S, New Hampshire 2nd Infantry Regiment on 10 Jun 1861, serving as a Major. He was promoted to Full Lieutenant Colonel on 14 Jun 1862 and Commissioned an officer in Company S, New Hampshire 9th Infantry Regiment on 14 Jun 1862. Josiah mustered out of service on 25 Jul 1862. Burial of Josiah at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Section H, Lot 35, Grave 19, Concord, Merrimack, New Hampshire. Burial of Hannah (Interred 1 Jul 1896) at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Section H, Lot 35, Grave 18, Concord, Merrimack, New Hampshire.
