Emily I. Dean, 76, of 1580 Cherry Lane, Macungie, died Wednesday at home. She was the wife of Frederick T. Dean Sr. They were married 52 years last August.
She worked various jobs in the Lehigh Valley for more than 40 years, most recently as a knitter for the former Fairtex Mills, Allentown, before retiring in 1980.
Born in Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Sr. and Mammie (McFetridge) Vandergrift.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Trexlertown.
Survivors: Husband; son, Frederick T. Jr. of York; brothers, Raymond Jr. of Agawa, Mass., and Guy of Kissimmee, Fla.; half brother, William Hill of Sun City, Ariz.; half sister, Gloria, wife of Albert Dorwarth of Allentown, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday in the church. Call 10-11 a.m. Monday in church. Arrangements, Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton.
