Marlene Jackson, passed away at Ozark Community Hospital in Gravette, Arkansas on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the age of 64.

Marlene was born on September 10, 1950 just north of Jay, Oklahoma, the daughter of Marion Junior Wyatt and Verda Genece (Phillips) Wyatt.

Marlene attended school and graduated from Jay High School in 1968. After graduating, she attended NEO in Miami, Oklahoma for one year. In October 1968 she married Richard Allen and they began their family. Marlene then stayed home raising their sons Rick and Gary until the late 1970’s. She then started her 26 year career with the Jay Public Schools as a teacher’s assistant. During that time she also worked a second job at Pizza Hut for 16 years.

She had a love and passion for all things Elvis. She and her best friend June Miller traveled to Graceland 27 times, making this a yearly event that they never grew tired of. They were constantly teased by family about taking the same identical pictures year after year. Marlene also enjoyed reading, playing Mama Claus to her family at Christmas. She loved to send cards to family members and close friends, which grew to be a very special ministry once she realized the joy that it gave others.

Marlene was preceded in death by her father Junior Wyatt, and brother Marion Eugene Wyatt.

She is survived by her mother Verda Wyatt of Jay, Oklahoma; two sons: Rick Allen and his wife Tonya of Jay, Oklahoma, and Gary Allen of Jay, Oklahoma; one sister Leta Morris and her husband Gary of Jay, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren: Chaley Allen, Caitlyn Allen, Kyle Allen, Brody Allen, and Gabe Allen. To a host of nieces and nephews she was ‘Nana’ Marlene. She is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held at Mount Hermon Church, Jay, Oklahoma on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 2PM with Rev. James Bryant, presiding. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Grove, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 2PM to 4PM at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK.
