JoAnn Wood, of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, in Farmington. She was born Feb. 13, 1920, to George Glasby and Maude McDowell on a pioneer homestead in Idaho. She was the next to youngest of 11 children. She was the sole survivor.JoAnn spent 25 years of her life teaching on the Navajo and Hopi reservations, and the rest in retirement in Farmington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, also an educator; and daughter, Sharon, an actress and teacher.She leaves behind her son, Mike (Helen); four grandkids, Bliss, Christiane (Joe), Lance (Charee) and Vince (Lyndsey); great-grandkids, Megan, Payton, Lance Jr., Jimmy and Sydnie; and one great-great-grandchild, Zoey. She also is survived by nieces and nephews.A rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 414 N. Allen Ave. in Farmington, followed at 10 a.m. by Mass with Father Timothy Farrell as celebrant.Interment will be at Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.JoAnn's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St. in Farmington, 505-327-5142.
