Nita Kathleen Jones, age 78 years, of Portage died on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the Golden living Nursing Home in Wisconsin Dells. She was born on July 30, 1932 in Bay City, Texas to Preston and Marieta (Combs) Tucker. Nita has lived in Portage for many years and wintered in Tucson, Arizona, she was a licensed practical nurse and was an Administrative Assistant for General Telephone and then Penda Corporation. She was a member of the Portage United Methodist Church. Nita was an artist, enjoyed painting, crafting, quilting and music. Survivors include – Husband – Richard Mohl and his family; 2 Daughters – Colleen Hepler (Pat Dixon) of Portage and Judy Cook of Portage; 6 Grandchildren – Jon Hepler, Kimberly Schneider, Ellie Kruser, Tom Schultz, Ben Grove and Tari Waite; 11 Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister – Eleanor (Leland) Palmer of Wisconsin Dells; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 Brothers – Richard Tucker and David Tucker, Sister – Virginia Stevens, 2 Sons in Law – John Hepler and Terry Cook. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 1:30 PM at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage with Rev. Tom Countryman officiating. Burial will follow at the Big Springs Cemetery, Town of New Haven, Adams County. Friends may call at the Picha Funeral Home, Portage on Sunday from Noon until 1:30 PM.
