Linda Gamboa, beloved mother, and wife to Dr. Rafael Gamboa, D.D.S., passed away peacefully, February 18, 2015. She is survived by her five daughters, six grandchildren, brothers and sister.Linda grew up in California, and relocated to Reno with two of her daughters, where she met her husband, Rafael. She began working with him and ran his dental office. She loved people, including the patients the office served, and especially the kids, who she would greet with toys! Linda had a beautiful heart - giving was her passion.Linda fell in love with arts and crafts in her down time, and nothing was better than enjoying a good movie wrapped up with her dogs, Charlie and Dink, who she loved dearly. More than anything, Linda loved the time spent with her girls.Following her own experience dealing with breast cancer, she reached out to the community, making tie blankets for every staff member in her oncologist's office, and by donating to "Moms on the Run," the well-known local charity. She would gather a big group of her family and friends on Mother's Day, head out on her pink scooter, with the wind blowing through her hair, show up to the event, and enjoy the day with lots of laughter and memories. Linda will be remembered for her passion for life, her big heart, and most of all, her will to live.A service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Walton's Funeral Home, 875 West Second St., Reno. A Celebration of Life will follow at Pinocchio's, 5995 S. Virginia St., Reno, from 1 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Linda be remembered with a donation in her name to Moms on the Run at www.momsontherun.info.
