SEA BRIGHT -- Philip S. Walton, 69, of 1042 Ocean ave., former mayor of this borough, died Thursday at Monmouth Memorial hospital where he was taken after suffering a heart attack at home. Mr. Walton was born in Toronto, Canada, son of the late Daniel D. and Amelia B. Walton. A resident here most of his life, Mr. Walton served two terms as mayor. For many years he was trust officer of the former Red Bank Trust company and later was cashier of the Second National bank of Red. Bank. Mr. Walton was one of the founders of the Mainstay Savings and Loan association, Red Bank, and was a former president of the Sea Bright National bank. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Walton was a charter member of Shrewsbury post, America Legion of Red Bank. He also was a charter member of the Red Bank Rotary club. He was a member of the Valley of Trenton, Scottish Rite Masons, and for many years was a member of Abacus lodge, Free and Accepted Masons of Long Branch. Surviving are his wife, Hildegarde Pannael Walton, and a sister, Mrs. Louise Brady, Bound Brook.
