Mr. Billy Gene Hubbard, 71, died Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Springs Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Morrison officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby, NC.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 Am on Tuesday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, 26 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC.
Mr. Hubbard was born October 4, 1943 in Cleveland County, NC and was a son of the late Ottis James Hubbard and Lizzie Beth Black Hubbard. He was a graduate of Shelby High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in Vietnam. Mr. Hubbard was retired from Springs Industries and the Chester County School District as a bus driver. He was a former member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of more than five years, Curtis Mae Arnett Miller Hubbard; one daughter, Angela Hubbard Shuford (Scott) of Shelby, NC; one son, Chris Hubbard (Lori) of Shelby, NC; three step daughters, Marylin Surls (Ruffin Lewis) of Richburg, SC, Tina Russell (Peter) of Richburg, SC, and Amanda Morrison of Lancaster, SC; two step sons, Michael Morrison (Melissa) of Heath Springs, SC and Maniel Miller (Krista) of Rock Hill, SC; nineteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Hubbard of Georgia.
