Carey Dean Shriver, age 46, son of Darrell and Martha (Young) Shriver, was born January 14th, 1969 in Springfield, Missouri. Carey, his wife Valirea, and his father, Darrell Dean Shriver were all tragically taken from this earth on February 27th, 2015. Carey was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather John Ivan Young and paternal grandparents, Norman and Ruth Shriver. Carey is survived by his daughter Kayla and son John, his mother Martha, his maternal grandmother Betty Young, his sisters Dara Gulick and Julie Guy, several nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family.
Carey Dean Shriver attended Summersville High School where he graduated in 1987. Upon Graduation, Carey attended Drury University for a short time. Carey married Valirea Love on June 11, 1994 in Louisiana, Missouri. They spent a few years in the Springfield area before moving to Tyrone to work in the family cabinet business. Carey knew every aspect of the business; he was his father’s right hand man. Additionally, Carey assisted with the farming including helping his mother manage the cattle operation while at the same time, running the auto business with his father. Carey was a carpenter, a businessman, a mechanic, a truck driver—the very definition of a talented “Jack of All Trades." At the time of his death, Carey and Valirea were finishing a house for his family.
In addition to the family business Carey had a variety of hobbies and interests. He loved spending time with family and friends at lake, gigging, and traveling with his wife and children. Everyone who met Carey knew they had a friend upon whom they could depend for whatever they needed. Few people enjoyed life like Carey Dean
