Katherine is survived by her parents, Roland Burlson and Jane McKelvey (maiden) Robertson, Jr., her brother and sister-in-law, John David Roland and Mary Jane Capio Robertson, and her five Robertson nephews: Madoc Burl, John Mason, David Luke, Sion McKel, and Dylan Tomas.

Katherine’s nursing career ranged from clinical practice to administration and education. As a clinician Katherine cared for patients in Mississippi, California, New York, Georgia, Hawaii, et. Al. As an educator in Mississippi Katherine adhered to high standards of nursing competency. As administrator, Interim Director of Clinical Nursing, Katherine successfully reorganized the nursing department at Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital.

Kathy Ann was an equestrian and fan of rodeo and real cowboys. She was an avid and productive gardener in the style of Felder Rushing. She grew a wide variety of herbs, vegetables, garlic, heirloom tomatoes, and vibrantly colorful flowers. She photographed nature, her pets and almost all events, especially family.

Kathy had an affinity to water and rain, including thunderstorms. She was partial to saltwater, from jet skiing, surf swimming and snorkeling to deep sea fishing.
