SGM Frederick W. Henry (Ret.), 74, of Wallingford, loving companion of Lorri Affinito, died peacefully, Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital.

He was born in New Haven, November 4, 1940 a son of the late Walter W. Henry Sr. and Doris Caswell Gavin and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. A proud American, he served his country faithfully with the United States Army, serving with the 82nd Airborne and 101st Airborne Divisions and with Special Forces, retiring as Sergeant Major.

He is survived by his 5 daughters, Lorraine Ball and husband Denis of Colorado, Cathe Zindel and Diane Henry both of Nebraska, Anna-Marie Henry and husband Gary Bookamer of Florida and Michele Crawford and husband Rich of CA; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Diane Carbrey and husband Owen and Julie DiLeonardo and husband Jerry; his brotherWalter W. Henry Jr and wife Donna; and his brother-in-law Jeff Demetrion. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Demetrion.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Monday, February 16, 2015 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held in The Wallingford Funeral Home, Tuesday, February 17, at 11 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
