MARTHA ELLEN ROSE
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15. Early Saturday morning, February 28, 2015, Martha Ellen Rose, 54 of Bluefield, WV, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus after a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by friends and family as she slipped from this life into the everlasting one.
Born May 5, 1960, Martha was the daughter of the late William T Rose and Vicie E Rose. Martha graduated from CNA training and worked in several nursing homes in WV and VA; a career she was truly proud of until she could work no longer. She loved her grandchildren and her cat Rascal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Virginia Martin and Beulah Ann Sylvester; two brothers: Silas and Lonnie Rose; special soul mate: Bill Adkins, with whom she spent 7 wonderful years.
Survivors include her son: Robert Green and wife Sherry of Kimball, WV; her daughter: Crystal Crews and husband Harvey Jr of Bluefield, VA; six grandchildren: Savannah Green, Shelby Green, Cody Parsons, Ashley Parsons, Harvey Crews III and Benny Crews; two sisters: Susie Hollins and husband Earnie of Elgood, WV and Janet Stanley of Richlands, VA; two brothers: James Rose and wife Carol of Princeton, WV and Bobby Rose and wife Judy of Lashmeet, WV.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Rev Tony Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Robert Green, Harvey Crews Jr, Jim Rose, Justin Davis, Melvin Alexander and James C Jordan will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
