He re-enlisted in April 1864 as Corporal, Co "G" 187th PA Infantry. He was in the battle of Cold Harbor, and the siege of Petersburg, where he was wounded. In May 1865 he was one of the Guard of Honor in the funeral of President Lincoln at Philadelphia,PA, and one of the escort in the funeral cortege
