Emily Monday Morris was born in Wood County Texas in ca 1852. She was a daughter of Upton Monday and Elizabeth (Eliza) Ogletree. She married Washington Perry Morris on 3 August 1884. They were the parents of two known children, Lillie and Washington Morris. Her husband committed suicide in 1915 after shooting four of his neighbors including his son-in-law in a dispute. Her husband was buried under a tree on the family farm. Not much is know about Emily except she had to endure a lot of pain in her life. She is believed to have died prior to 12 September 1918 when her son registered for the draft in WW 1. He listed his sister as his next of kin. She is also believed to have been buried in the Pine Hill Cemetery near her son-in-law who was killed in 1915 in an now unmarked grave.
