Deceased Name: Edna Elizabeth Adkins Mahan

Edna Elizabeth Adkins Mahan, 92, of Chatham, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at the Gretna Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Mahan was born July 26, 1919, in Penhook. She was the daughter of the late Charlie W. Adkins and Elizabeth Haskins Adkins.
She was a homemaker and a member of Greenpond Baptist Church. She was married to the late Leslie G. Mahan.
Survivors include two sons, L. Wayne Mahan and his wife, Judy Raye of Dalton, Ga., Charlie V. Mahan and his wife, Shirley of Chatham and one daughter, Judy M. Stickel and her husband, Don of Chatham; two granddaughters, Jill Mahan of Dalton, Ga., Denise S. Walker of Chatham; and one step-granddaughter, Michelle Stickel of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandsons, Wess Mahan of Dalton, Ga., and Anthony Mahan of Chatham. She has two great-grandchildren, Brooke Mahan of Dalton, Ga., and Ella McNelley of Nashville, Tenn.
She was predeceased by her two brothers, Raymond Adkins and Grady Adkins and by one sister, Elsie Turner.
Funeral services will be conducted at Greenpond Baptist Church on Friday, November 11, at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Steve Carlton and Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 10, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Greenpond Baptist Church building fund, 7176 Anderson Mill Road, Chatham, Va. 24531.
