Born Aug. 27, 1931, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Charles and Margaret (Talbert) Yanzer. On Dec. 3, 1950, he married Betty (Hey) Yanzer, and she survives.
Mr. Yanzer retired in 1980 from the Yanzer Electrical Co. He was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Shelbyville, and a former member of Eagles Lodge No. 766 and the Knights of Columbus.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Shelbyville; a son, Doug Yanzer, Shelbyville; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, Shelbyville.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Schnepf officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
