Services for Charles F. Erpelding, 65 of 1562 Ruth St., will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of Memories West. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories.
Mr. Erpelding died at 2:30 a.m. Monday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of a possible liver condition.
He was born Jan. 8, 1909, in Kellogg, Minn., the son of Charles and Ethal Miller Erpelding. He married Elizabeth Saunders in Waterloo. He worked for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 29 years before retiring. He served with the Air Force during World War II, in which he became a prisoner of war. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Evansdale.
Survivors include his wife; three sons,Dennis of Knoxville, Wayne of 1964 Independence Ave., and Brian of 3836 Osage Rd.; five grandchildren; three brothers, Tom of 804 Rainbow Dr., George of Burton, S.C. and Dale of Davenport; a sister, Mrs. Audrey Timmsen of Kellogg, Minn.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Chapel of Memories West after noon Tuesday until service time.
